Banpu CEO Receives “Female Executive of the Year” from Power & Energy Awards 2023

Mrs. Somruedee Chaimongkol, Chief Executive Officer of Banpu Public Company Limited, received the “Female Executive of the Year” from the Power & Energy Awards 2023 at Enlit Asia 2023, a seminar and exhibition event of power and energy in Southeast Asia organized at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), Jakarta, Indonesia. This award honors executives who make substantial contributions to Southeast Asia’s power sector, drive their companies to success, and foster their companies’ transformation and growth.
In addition, Mrs. Somruedee was invited as a panelist in the seminar “Balancing Energy Transition and Security for a Sustainable Future” to share the vision of sustainable energy transformation, emphasizing the core principles of being Affordable, Reliable, and Eco-Friendly (ARE). Mrs. Somruedee also presented progresses of Banpu Transformation under the Greener & Smarter strategy, for example, the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects in the United States, the investment of strategic mineral business that responded to the energy technology business as well as the investment of Nature-based solutions. These initiatives demonstrate Banpu’s commitment to decarbonization, marking a significant step in Banpu Transformation toward creating sustainable energy and powering a better living for all.
