Mrs. Somruedee Chaimongkol, Chief Executive Officer of Banpu Public Company Limited, received the “Female Executive of the Year” from the Power & Energy Awards 2023 at Enlit Asia 2023, a seminar and exhibition event of power and energy in Southeast Asia organized at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), Jakarta, Indonesia. This award honors executives who make substantial contributions to Southeast Asia’s power sector, drive their companies to success, and foster their companies’ transformation and growth.

This achievement reflects Banpu’s unwavering commitment to sustainable energy delivery while meeting the rising global energy demands. The Company continues to operate with a focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, underscoring its dedication to creating a sustainable future.​<br><br>This year, Banpu achieved a higher DJSI score, driven by significant advancements in three key areas. The Company enhanced its waste and pollutants management by implementing comprehensive policies covering all types of waste across its business operations. The Company also strengthened its materiality assessment through ongoing stakeholder surveys conducted by external parties and adopted a double materiality approach to evaluate sustainability issues from both impacts on business operations and on the environment and society. Additionally, Banpu demonstrated its commitment to transparency and reporting by disclosing performance data aligned with the Sustainability Taxonomy in its 2023 Sustainability Report, reinforcing its dedication to sustainable development and robust ESG practices.​<br><br>The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) is an index that evaluates the sustainability practices of leading global companies to ensure that these companies have effective management in all dimensions, from economic to environment, society and governance.
